Five months since it started operations in October 2017, YOTEL Singapore is turning out to be one of the most interesting hotels in this vibrant island nation.
Aside from its very convenient and accessible location (along Orchard Road) and its relatively friendly price (rooms start at SG $164), there's much to love about YOTEL Singapore--the first YOTEL hotel in Asia.
We've enumerated some of them for you. Here they are:
1. Two delivery robots
YOTEL Singapore employs the help of two delivery robots. Equipped with Simultaneous Localisation and
Mapping (SLAM) technology, the robots are able to navigate around the entire hotel
autonomously to deliver amenities directly and securely to guests’
rooms. The robots have movable wheels, a 10.1-inch touchscreen, motion sensors, and three compartments to store the items to be delivered in any of YOTEL Singapore’s 610 rooms across 30 floors.
The robots seamlessly interface with
the elevator and call the guest’s rooms (which YOTEL calls “cabin”) upon
arrival at the door. Each robot is programmed to have its own unique voice and
personality along with facial graphics. They are smartly engineered to speak
and detect obstacles within their path.
2. Self check-in kiosks
Aside from the delivery robots, the hotel also features five self check-in kiosks at the lobby, which allows guests to check-in in just under two minutes; and check-out in seconds.
From a Premium Queen Cabin to a VIP View Suite, the cabins are equipped with signature YOTEL features such as the adjustable SMARTBED, and a TechnoWall with smart TVs for easy connectivity to guests’ devices. Guests can also enjoy access to complimentary super-strength WiFi throughout the hotel. The hotel also uses a premier line of shampoo and body wash from Urban Skincare Co. in its rooms. The Cityscape Collection, developed with revolutionary anti-pollution formulas, work to remove impurities and provide protection to the body and hair from every day external aggressors.
With a Club Lounge on ‘TEN,’ guests can enjoy spaces for co-working, informal meetings, and social gatherings. Facilities include a pool and terrace, and 24/7 gym. There’s also the Grains & Hops Restaurant and Bar, which offers nine varieties of rice bowls including meat, seafood, and vegetarian options. A curated selection of craft beers and signature cocktails are also on offer to complement the rich assortment of Asian rice bowls.
