Maxims Hotel in Resorts World Manila threw a by-invitation-only pool party last week. They dubbed it EPIC Summer 2013. I call it one of the hottest pool parties I've been to. Ever.
Perhaps it was free-flowing booze (thanks Bacardi!), or the music-mixing talents of DJ Ngelik (a resident DJ in her hometown in Venezuela) and Synima (an electronic music producer and DJ from Florida). Maybe it was mini bikini fashion show or the daring stunt by Asian mentalist Zlwin Chew. But then again, it could be the sizzling performances from the Groove Manila Fire Dancers that truly set the party apart from rest.
For sure it was a combination of all--compounded by the abundance of hot, shirtless guys in the pool (suggestively holding water guns?) and cute mermaids (not your ordinary Jezebel, these sirenas were foreigners). You'd have seen these eyecandies sooner, had you been following me on Instagram or Twitter (@hot_ken).
Oh, yeah, international music star apl.de.ap of Black Eyed Peas was present for the event, arriving like a rock star, accompanied by two ladies on either side.
The party was held at the Pool Deck of the luxurious all-suite Maxims Hotel, which, on a normal day, is exclusive for in-house guests.
Of course, the event was a also a chance for, us, people in the media, to wind down a bit, taking a break from deadlines. My good friends Sheryl Songsong of SPACE Magazine and Ron Pecho of ABS-CBN was responsible for coercing me to drink more than once glass of Bacardi, which is highly unusual for me. But, hey, no one's complaining. The booze was a perfect excuse to "get to know" other people we met during the event (*wink*).
The EPIC Summer 2013 pool party was held to promote Maxims Hotel's EPIC Summer season, which truly makes the hotel one of the country's "premier one-stop, nonstop destination for ultimate entertainment and thrills." From April 15 to 30 at the Newport Mall Plaza in Resorts World Manila, where Maxims Hotel is located, expect to see a roster of Pinoy rock and alternative bands--such as Kitchie Nadal, Pupil, Sandwich, Spongecola, and Up Dharma Down.
The exclusive event was hosted by the always playful KC Montero and the beautiful Issa Litton.
Here are more photos from the event. Enjoy! :)
