SPACE Magazine launches first ever annual issue

SPACE Magazine recently launched its very first Annual Issue with much fanfare at The Podium, which coincides with the opening of fashion and lifestyle store 19AD91.

The event presented a 40-piece collection of famed designer Estien Quijano, whose works are featured both in SPACE Magazine and 19AD91. It truly was a night of celebration--it was also the designer's 40th birthday.

Kudos to SPACE Magazine for the things it has accomplished in the last four years. SPACE Magazine editor-in-chief Sheryl Songsong, who is also a dear friend of mine, says there's a lot of big things in store for the travel and design magazine this 2013.

For the Annual Issue, expect hours of worthwhile reading with focus on global design--what was hot in 2012 and what are to be surefire hits this year.

As a regular contributor for SPACE Magazine, I wrote about QT Sydney Hotel in Australia, which I got to experience during my visit in the energetic city last January. Read it in its entirety on page 114 titled "Theatrical Temptress."

As for the fashion show during the launch, I must say I was impressed with Estien's work, which featured fierce footwear; modern take on the Filipiniana; play of colors in the fabric; and the occasional use of antelope-like headdresses.

In the next few days, I shall upload a video of the whole event. For now, enjoy these photos that I took from the front row (thanks Sheryl!). :)
