Movenpick keeps guests busy with fun & meaningful activities

The Movenpick hotel in Cebu City has been around for barely a year and a half but the people behind its early success feel like they've been around for much longer than that.

“We've had so many events (since opening in April 2011) that we all feel that Movenpick has been here for years,” Mia Sy, the resort hotel's marketing head, told SPACE magazine in an interview. “And that is what we want to be known for—the resort hotel that brings excitement in Cebu all the time.”

The luxurious Swiss-branded resort hotel has so far kept its guests busy with activities that include themed nights with fire dancers, cultural performers, and international chefs (for cooking demos); orchestra groups for nights of music.

The Movenpick towers stand tall among its neighboring establishments with 22 floors, which houses 246 rooms. SPACE Magazine, in a feature article, described its rooms as having "a cozy and inviting bed, an intimate lighting arrangement, and balcony views unmatched by nothing else."

Water sports include jet ski rides, banana boat rides, parasailing, and kayaking. While locals might not be too familiar with Movenpick, it is a very familiar name for foreigners especially Europeans.

When it comes to dining, Movenpick is a class on its own, with three of the best gastronomic destinations in Cebu--the Vanilla Beach, where guests take their breakfast; the Seas, which specializes in seafood and cocktails; and the Manny O restaurant, which boasts of the best wines and tapas in town.

Here are some more photos for you, TWIST supporters. Enjoy! :)
