Batanes is best known for its sweeping green pastures and deep blue waters. But for me, the best thing about this beautiful island isn't a thing at all--it's the people.
When we were there, people in the streets would greet us a "Magandang Umaga po!" whenever we pass by in our cars, with the windows down. They were always smiling at us. I felt so welcome and at home.
I noticed that people were more willing to be photographed. Despite the influx of tourists, though, it's evident that Ivatans have not lost their identity.
My other Batanes-centric entries have centered on its pasture, as you can see in this post; the unobstructed view from Fundacion Pacita, arguably the most beautiful hotel in the island; or Kia Motors, which brought us, media people, there earlier this year for an event.
This time, we give focus to Batanes lovely people and their everyday lives. Enjoy! :)
