Fundacion Pacita offers unobstructed views of Batanes' amazing rock formation and violent waves
Yesterday, I posted a blog entry about how Kia Motors Philippines brought 40 members of the motoring press (myself included) to Batanes for the first time. You can read that blog entry by clicking here.
The three-day event, which happened last March 4 to 6, really is something I'd remember for a long time, as I've been wanting to go to the blissful island of Batanes forever but never had the chance until now. Today, I post a blog entry about Fundacion Pacita, the hotel where we stayed at during the activity.
There are only 12 rooms in the hotel and Kia booked the whole place for us. Though we all had to share rooms this time, others were still forced to stay in a different hotel not too far from where we were.
Apparently, I was told by the staffers there, that Fundacion Pacita is the most beautiful hotel in island. I can't vouch for that as I have never been in any other hotels in Batanes. However, I would say that Fundacion Pacita is, in fact, one nicely built accomodation--one that equals the scenic views the island itself offers.
Located in Basco, some 10 minutes from the airport, room rates range up to P17,000 a night, said the courteous hotel staffer who helped us settle into our respective rooms.
I loved the weather in Batanes, and I was happy that our room had many windows which we could open to let the breeze inside. Because the hotel was situated on top of a hill, we had an unobstructed view of astounding rock formations and seemingly violent waves right outside our windows.
If there's one thing negative I'd say about the hotel was that the breakfast sucked--big time. The beef tapa was so dry and the taste--and food presentation--was just blah. Fortunately, the coffee tasted delicious (Lavazza, I was told)! So breakfast was saved! (We had our lunches and dinners elsewhere during our stay in Batanes so I don't know how those would have differed, if ever).
Should you decide you'd want to stay in Fundacion Pacita during your Batanes visit, you'll get more info from their website.
For now, here are some pictures I took for you. Enjoy! :)
