With literally hundreds of accommodation options in the top summer destination that is Boracay, it takes a lot to pique the interest of tourists, let alone sustain brand recall to keep the momentum going.
But with sleek white-washed architecture that complements the beach's white sand, The District has become a headturner for many, carving out a name for itself since it opened its doors in April 2012.
Late last year, I was able to stay for a night in one of The District's 48 well-appointed rooms and suites, designed by renowned architect Anton Mendoza. The room I stayed at was spacious, bathed in bright lights, and features earthly colors that exudes warmth.
Located at Station 2, The District Boracay is in the middle of everything--it's close enough that everything seems to be of walking distance, yet far enough to have a moment, I would say. As inviting as the beach was, I remember staying indoors most of the time and sleeping in. That's saying a lot coming from someone who has stayed at several hotels in this dreamy paradise over the years.
The hotel has two restaurants--the Vigan Grill and Caruso Ristorante Italiano--that offers not just delectable menus but an exquisite view to match. The weather wasn't quite on our side when I was there, I recall, but my warm cup of coffee and my Continental breakfast did the trick.
The District also has an outdoor lap pool (for the athletic) and a lounge pool (for laid-backs) for individuals who want an alternative to the salty waters outside. There's the sky-view lounge (Star Lounge), perfect for sunset cocktails and private events.
I know how hard it is to book hotel rooms in Boracay especially for summer or the Holy Week. So if you're looking for accommodation that mirrors the renowned beauty of Boracay, then you might want to consider checking out The District Boracay for that memorable vacation.
Here are more photos taken by yours truly. Enjoy! :)
