When I first got to visit Bangkok to cover an event for Chevrolet last March, we stayed at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit. It is a "renowned luxury hotel" with a direct link to the Asok Skytrain station.
As I write this today, I am yet again, staying at a Sheraton hotel. This time, I am in Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort for an event by another car company, Ford. What a coincidence. :)
This is why I decided to post first pictures of Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit in Bangkok, which is more of a business hotel because it is in the city. To check out pictures of the Sheraton Krabi Beach Resort, which (you can tell by its name) is situated along a beach (Ao Nang Beach), please click here.
Back to Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, what I remember most from it is its charm that features more of a classical beauty. You can tell that the hotel has been there for several years now though. So while the "Grande" in its name is still very much apt, I think the hotel can benefit from some much-deserved upgrade of facilities soon.
Its fitness center puts many of the Gold's Gym and Fitness First centers in the Philippines to shame. Its food is fantastic! I once ordered Pad Thai and had it delivered to my room. That was a really nice moment.
What I like most about that hotel, though, is its location. Right in front of it is a posh mall; its side streets is beaming with activities and interesting establishments.
So thank you, Chevrolet, for choosing a beautiful hotel for us, media people, to stay at. :)
Enjoy the photos I took! :)
