Wondering what Makati looked like back in the '60s?

Hard to believe, but this is Ayala Avenue circa 1969
It's hard to imagine how that image above is now the epitome of high-rise buildings and, a lot of times, rush-hour traffic. But, based on this photo, Ayala Avenue in Makati City once featured expansive, vacant lots. On second thought, this is hardly surprising. After all, 3 years ago, you can count the number of buildings in Bonifacio Global City (BGC). Today, goodluck with doing that.

I was organizing old files the other day and came across these old photos of Makati, which came from the office of then-Mayor Jejomar Binay (I once interviewed him and I was given several CDs containing these photos and more). Looking at these, I can't help but wonder what Makati would look like in another 200 years or so. Anyhow, enjoy the photos! :)
