Jose Rizal emblem on a mobile solar charger for gadgets

I bet Jose Rizal didn't even imagine his emblem would--on his 150th birthday--be used to promote a mobile solar charger.

I chanced upon a booth at the ground floor of RCBC Plaza along Ayala Avenue in Makati City earlier today that was selling items--such as shirts, pens, USB ports, and the solar charger--all bearing Jose Rizal's likeness. Rightly so, because proceeds apparently would be used to purchase "Noli Me Tangere" books which will be donated to public high school.

For only P350, the solar charger can recharge batteries of cellphones, digital cameras, and mp3 players. According to the woman manning the booth, the charger needs an initial charging of 5 hours from the computer but that after that, everything is solar.

The charger, which comes in pink and silver, is very lightweight and comes with several jacks to make sure it fits your cellphone. Unfortunately, it's their last day selling the items TODAY (they close at 5pm). So if you want to support their cause, please fly there now. :)
