Intricate, sophisticated, detailed design defines Buddhist temples

Buddhist temples, obviously, are religious places. But since I am a Catholic, it was more of an architectural wonder for me than anything else.

The Dragon Temple in Kelantan was one of our sidetrips during a recent 4-day trip to Malaysia for the "Kelantan Food Trail." Enjoy these photos and tidbits about Buddhism that I picked up from the visit. :)

These temples are funded by donations. More buildings and structures were being constructed during our visit.
This is a Buddhist cemetery--the bigger and more intricate your "grave" is, the more important you were
during the time on earth.

Likeness of noted monks and religious leaders

Tigers and dragons are very visible in these temples
I can's event begin to imagine how people were able to put together the details in this place

I take it these icons aren't done yet. I believe they'll be painted colorfully soon.

Again, details. Need I say more?
