Meet Kroketten--the newest potato snack from the Netherlands
We've had it mashed, fried, and boiled. But rarely, do we have it fun and healthy.
With the Kroketten, the newest potato snacks from Netherlands, this just might change. The Dutch word, which means "little, round ball," perfectly captures the snack's perfectly composed potato balls that are impressive in taste and price.
“Kroketten is one of the best ways to enjoy potato—crunchy, filled with cheese and meat. Since we put up our first branch late last year, we've had an amazing response from potato lovers,” said Maribel Bosch, who owns and heads the company.
For only P35 per order, Kroketten offers three varieties: Original Kroket, the original oblong shape with ground beef, chicken, and cheese; Kroketballen, three pieces of crunchy potato balls which come with dips (so far the most popular among the three); and the miniballen, the bite-sized potato balls considered best for sharing.
For the miniballen fans, it's never a boring day with flavors such as cheese, chicken, beef, bacon, hotdog, and longganisa. There's also pork adobo, mango, and tuyo flakes--all of which offer an exciting taste with a Filipino twist, especially when paired with the tasty dips.
What's more, the Kroketten’s potato balls can be taken at home and enjoyed at a later time. That's because, stored properly, the product can last days. With simple reheating, taste should be the same.
“Our products are for everyone to enjoy. That's why we've come up with a combo meal--our five pieces mini ballen (P20) and our four pieces mini ballen with the 6.5 oz revitalize 10 or Nutri 10 fresh fruit drink (P35),” said Maribel.
A former hotelier, Bosch knows a thing or two about what is tasty, having been based overseas with her husband and kids.
Confident about the potential of the product, the company is open for franchising for an affordable investment of P195,000. To date, it operates in 12 malls around the country (a 13th branch at the SM Mall of Asia is about to open soon).
Kroketten is located in the following locations: Festival Mall Alabang, Albang Town Center, GT Tower Makati, Market! Market!, Starmall Edsa Shaw, Robinsons Galleria, Robinsons Metro East, SM North Edsa, and SM Lipa Batangas. For inquiries on franchising, please call (632) 822-5711 or 09178596623.
