Back from 5-day Bangkok trip

That was some five days in Bangkok! In that span of time, we (together with motoring press peeps) attended several Chevrolet events such as the world debut of the all new Trailblazer; a 500-km Jungle Drive using the Colorado LTS; and a sneak peak at the American car company's new car, the Sonic.

If you've been following my Twitter (hot_ken) and/or Facebook accounts [heck, even my FourSquare, Path and Instagram accounts], you'd know that my first trip to Thailand was courtesy of an invitation from Chevrolet, from which my editor sent me to represent the Philippine Daily Inquirer's Motoring section.

How honored I am to have covered such grand events in a lovely country like Thailand, along with the most respected veteran motoring editors and reporters from the country's top car magazines and motoring sections of leading dailies. In the following weeks, I'll be writing more about the aforementioned car models, along with pictures and stories of my sidetrips during our free time there.

Let me just say, for the record, that this is one of the most organized trip I've ever attended. That's coming from someone who have been attending media junkets here and abroad for more than five years.

From the invitation, to the processing of our international driving licenses; to the survival kits, to assisting us from the airport and back, to the press kits. From making sure we never get hungry or lost; to making sure the schedule allowed us time to roam around the city for ourselves. Kudos to the Chevy's local public relations arm and their counterparts in Thailand.

There were seven of us from the Philippines (five from the media, two from Chevy) who joined many other members of the motoring press from Indonesia and Malaysia. We were told that they held a separate event for the Thai press a couple of weeks back and will be doing the same thing again for the European motoring peeps several weeks from now.

I am thankful that even though I may not regularly cover motoring events, they always turn out as one of the more memorable ones. This Chevrolet media junket, in particular, like the cars the company produces, stands out from just about the rest.
