The Strip, where the hundreds of casinos and hotels in Vegas are :) |
But, then again, (duh!) I almost forgot this was a desert.
While I've seen many of the tourist-y sites to see here, I'm still as excited as ever because the city keeps on adding new places to see, things to do, shows to watch, people to meet, and food to devour.
My 16-hour flight from the Philippines to Las Vegas was uneventful at best. It's amazing though what things a person can think of to amuse himself inside the airplane for that long a time. I read every possible thing to read there (newspapers, magazines, books); talked with seatmates; watched movies; scribbled blog ideas; wrote an article. Oh, and yes, I passed away time sleeping and eating, too! :)
Thankfully, no baby vomitted or cried the whole night (like last time). The lavatory was not too far from where I was seated. Food in the airplane (Philippine Airlines) was above average. And we got to our destination on time.
Expectedly, my body went bozonkers when I got here. I was up all night and feeling sleepy the whole day (come to think of it, that's really not very far from how I am when in the Philippines haha).
It does feel weird that I'm writing this blog entry on my second night here, without having really done anything yet but made "courtesy calls" to my relatives (on my dad's side). The action starts tomorrow when I go with my mom for her jury duty. It's funny how I'm more excited than her! :)
You can rest assured that this blog would be very Vegas-centric from now until mid-October. That's when I fly to New York, when you can expect this blog to be all New York-y. Until then! Ta-ta! :)
