Homecooked Pinoy food in Vegas

So what does a Filipino in Las Vegas to do when he suddenly craves for homecooked Pinoy food? The answer is he probably goes to Nanay Gloria's carinderia.

For the lutong-bahay taste that is unmistakeably Filipino, it's nice to know there's an affordable venue (in fact, there are several Pinoy eateries in the area, according to my relatives who have been living in Vegas for years) such as Nanay Gloria's (in Maryland at Vegas Valley).

There's the usual adobo, caldereta, fried tilapia, nilagang baka, and many more, available for $6.99 for lunch. The dessert selection, which include halo-halo and sago't gulaman, is impressive but some have a separate price tag.

Truly Pinoy is the service they provide--the crew are all Filipinos and are all very conversational and appreciative. It's also cool that it's not only Filipinos who avail of the buffet. There were Americans and Mexicans who dined while I was having lunch myself. :)
