Hidden Valley Springs is fairytale storybook perfection

Have you been to a place where you feel like you're inside a fairytale storybook? With its enchanted-looking, magical and peaceful surrounding, Hidden Valley Springs is undoubtedly one of those places.

A world-class resort in Alaminos, Laguna (a province 63 kilometers south of Manila), Hidden Valley Springs is a 43-hectare tropical rainforest paradise. Located 5 kilometers away from the Alaminos town proper, it's a tourist destination famous for, well, its hidden valleys and crystal clear water.

Situated at the foot of Mt. Makiling, the resort features hundreds of trees, some of which are centuries old.

“Everything in this place we kept natural. Even though trees are aplenty, we regularly plant new ones to maintain the place’s beauty,” Sam Roxas, the resort’s operations and marketing manager, told TWIST.

There's the Amlang tree, believed to be one of the--if not the--oldest trees in the area. It is said to be over 300 years old. A hidden falls, which can be reached only after some 40-minute walk, is a sight to behold; a perfect backdrop for picture-taking.

The resort has six pools, all with "running water" from the mountains. One of the pools even feature hot and cold water--hot at the bottom from your knees down and cold from your shoulders up. Amazing!

Aside from the resort's natural beauty, Hidden Valley Springs also has a mini-golf course, a basketball court, and a billiards pool area, among others.

It's perfect for honeymooners or families who want a reprieve from the hectic life in Manila. Prepare to rub shoulders with Koreans and Russians, though, as they go on packaged tours all through out the year.
