Another week has passed by, which means it's time for the weekly summary, if you will, of everyday events in my life. This is the time I dish out on whatever that interests me. Topics may not necessarily merit a full blog entry but in this page I give the spotlight to them. To read my "Week That Was" entry for June 1 - 7, please click here.
1. French Film Fest at Shangri-la Plaza
The 16th French Film Festival runs from June 9 to June 19 at the Shangri-la Plaza. So far, I've seen two films--"Le Marquis" (The Marquis) and "Sans Toit Ni Loi" (Vagabond). While "Vagabond" was alright, I find "The Marquis" very entertaining and funny (it was a comedy). Half of "The Marquis" was shot here in the Philippines. The best thing about this festival? It's free! Just arrive at the venue an hour before the show starts and claim your tickets. So if you haven't seen one, get your lovely derrieres off that couch and head on to Shangri-la Plaza. Check the full schedule here.
2. Renewing car insurance
My car's comprehensive insurance is about to expire (by July) when the car turns one year old itself. While I am a strong advocate of life insurance, I can't say the same thing for car insurance. While I'd love to get that insurance, the car company said I'd have to shell out some P27,000 for another year of car insurance. I'm not sure I'd like to allot that amount of money for the purpose. Unless you know another company that offers a much affordable alternative? Please refer me to them. Thanks!
3. My love affair with Crocs
I used to be a non-believer of buying relatively more expensive footwear when there's so many cheaper alternatives around. When the public relations officer of Crocs gave me a pair more than six months ago to try them out, she said I'd have a hard time breaking that pair of footwear. I was skeptical at first. But since then, that same pair has been subjected to my everyday active lifestyle--trekking, dancing, running, swimming, and a lot of walking--and it still looks brand new! I guess I am a believer now. :)
4. First time to buy dog food
It was my first time to buy dog food for my puppy, Frances, which turned three months last June 10. I bought the Pedigree for puppies (which supposedly has the same nutrients that a parent dog's milk contains). So far, Frances seems to be loving it. What brand do you feed your dog?
5. Art gallery in Makati
For art lovers who have an hour or two to spare, visit the Silver Lens Photo (www.silverlensphoto.com) in Makati (2230 Pasong Tamo Extension, Warehouse 2, Yupangco Building). They have galleries that feature extraordinary paintings and photos, again for free! The art gallery is open from 10am to 7pm, Mondays to Fridays; 1pm to 6pm on Saturdays. I'm not the biggest are fan but I had fun when I visited recently.
Worse if people are involved and there are injuries or death then you may even end up in jail. With liability insurance you would receive help from the car insurance company even paying for the attorney's fee during the entire trial period. best cheap car insurance
