WEEK THAT WAS (June 15 - 23): Varekai; Trets and flooding; fitness
My "Week That Was" entry this week covers a longer period (9 days, instead of 7). Tee-hee. It's mainly because I was too busy the past couple of days that I had no time to make an entry the other day. So again, here are the things that had made my life this week a heck of a lot more interesting. Enjoy! :)
1. Attended the "Varekai" dress rehearsals
I was fortunate enough to have been invited for the dress rehearsals and press "screening" of Cirque de Soleil's "Varekai" last June 21. I must say I'm very impressed with the 150-minute performance (intermission included). Many acts were truly breathtaking and some even unbelievable. I highly recommend you don't miss this. We're very fortunate that world-class shows like this include the country in their stops. :)
2. Missed opportunities--Yahoo! OMG Awards and meeting Congresswoman Arroyo
Because I attended the press viewing of "Varekai," I unfortunately was unable to attend the first ever Yahoo! OMG Awards in Republiq. I promise to do so next year! Why did they have to hold the events at the same date and time?! Frustrating! Last June 17, I attended the launch of the "Cheers Tour" in Pampanga. Former President and now Congresswoman Arroyo was supposed to join us but she had to beg off because she was hospitalized the day before. Damn!
3. Fitness and wellness soon
Those who know me know that I am fierce and determined when it comes to getting fit. I've been there but I've fallen off many times, too. I just enrolled at Gold's Gym and would start working out again on July 1. Right now I'm just enjoying all the sodas and sundaes I want because come July, I bid them goodbye. :)
4. Fave series' premiere; fave reality show's finale
Last June 19, the Season 3 of "Drop Dead Diva" made it's premiere. Next week (June 29), it's the finale for "The Voice." Both shows, unfortunately, do not air here in the Philippines. Thank God I can download the eps. I'll be waiting for the second season of "The Voice." Meanwhile, I'm glad "Platinum Hit,"--a show for songwriters--is still in its fourth episode.
5. My first set of Trets
My first set of Tretorn boots made their debut yesterday amidst flooding in Makati. They were great--my feet were dry as a tee...until the flood got over ankle-deep! It was horrendous and I had to wash the footwear right away. No worries, the Trets are okay and dry. I'll wear them again tomorrow--flood or no flood. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever had! :)
